Explore biodiversity
The map
You can see the distribution of the species included the catalogue in the territory of Galicia and northern Portugal, and also filter the observations by different criteria such as year, region or threat level. There is a colour assigned for each one on the side menu, to make it easier to identify them on the map. You can add or remove species by clicking directly on them, and you can compare up to four species simultaneously. Once you have made your selection, you can export the data with the option Export.
You have several viewing options on the map (satellite, map, relief) and location of species (points and UTM). Explore all these menu items on the map. At the bottom of it, you can see all the observations that you are watching simultaneously on it.
The observations
If you find on the field one of the espcies included in the catalogue, endangered or not, you can notify other users creating a new observation of it. Simply provide some basic information: location, date and image, so that it becomes part of our archive. We also offer a very complete tab to specify more information, depending on your skills. Each species has related and geolocated observations, so we can consult its distribution in the territory of Galicia and northern Portugal with real data.
